From 1984 to 2004, a series of annual workshops was held at Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, with the aim to bring together astrophysicists and nuclear physicists from both theory and experiment to discuss about current problems and to exchange news.
We had the idea to revive this grand tradition with a two-day workshop. There will be three main topics: Stellar burning phases, Explosive nucleosynthesis, and Neutron-capture nucleosynthesis. Time for intense and detailed discussions will be available during the sessions as well as during the joint coffee and lunch breaks.
We have invited six world-leading experts for the main topics (45 minutes). In addition, we will have oral contributions by the participants (15 to 20 minutes according to the number of talks). It is also possible to submit a contribution with another theme of nuclear astrophysics. All participants, especially young scientists at the beginning of their career, are encouraged to submit a contribution. Some funding is available to reimburse travel costs up to a limited amount.
We are looking forward to meeting you at Brussels in
January,
Kerstin Sonnabend and Pierre Descouvemont
