ESR - Experimentier-Speicher-Ring
At the ESR measurements of (p,g) or (a,g) rates in the Gamow window of the p-process in inverse kinematics are conducted.
The experimental setup is applicable to study radioactive nuclei. Also, measurements with gas targets are possible.
The ions are detected via in-ring particle detectors providing low background and high efficiency.
The challenges of this experimental setup are: UHV conditions, a low-energy beam, detectors must be bakeable and interaction with rest gas.
